FWA 26/28 GHz services
The STAR 21 Networks services are provided through the Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) network that uses the 26/28 GHz reserved frequency band. This technology permits establishing the service in a very short time and provides a very high quality comparable with optic fibres, which cannot be achieved by similar free band technologies. The connection is consistent with the standard telecommunication specifications and is fully transparent for the data, voice or multimedia communication.
The wholesale FWA 26/28 GHz services are intended for STAR 21 Networks partners that are other operators and Internet Service Providers. To connect the end customer, the FWA 26/28 GHz subscriber terminal is used, and an agreed Point of Interconnect (POI) is established in a suitable collocation point to connect to the partner’s network. The services are provided under the trade name of STAR 21 ACCESS and STAR 21 ACCESS EXTRA.
A transmission capacity terminated in the chosen access interface at the customer is always reserved fully and permanently for each provided service. Digital circuit parameters comply with the ITU-T telecommunication standards. Ethernet interface services are always provided as symmetrical, full-duplex services with a maximum transmission rate of 4, 6, 30 or 90 Mbps (depending on the location and technology used).
