Use of FWA for Internet connection
A frequent application of the STAR 21 Networks access line is a quality broadband connection to the Internet. It is mainly intended for customers among firms and organisations that require a permanent, unlimited, non-shared connection with rates from 256 kbps and more. This service is provided by STAR 21 Networks partners.
Due to the STAR 21 Networks network flexibility, our partners may offer connection through the standard digital circuit as well as right through the Ethernet interface, which brings a saving of investment cost of the router. Another big advantage is the option to use the STAR 21 Networks access line for multiple services at the same time.
Advantages of the Internet connection via the FWA
- Guaranteed service quality and reliability, connection equivalent to the terrestrial digital circuit connection;
- Fully reserved and symmetrical transmission capacity;
- Ethernet interface – saving the investment cost of the router;
- Sufficient reserve of capacity for future needs and multimedia applications;
- Possibility to use additional services on a single connection (telephone, data services);
- Short installation time.
Typical service configuration
The customer uses the Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) services and is connected to the ISP network through a digital circuit provided by STAR 21 Networks. The circuit on the customer side is terminated in the required interface (port) of the STAR 21 Networks network subscriber terminal (usually Ethernet or a serial port; router is necessary in the latter case). Technical parameters, security and reliability of such digital circuit are equivalent to the service provided on the terrestrial line.
The subscriber terminal normally has several ports and can be used for multiple services or to connect multiple customers. Individual services are absolutely independent of each other and the parameters of each of them can be set up and guaranteed separately.
STAR 21 Networks guarantees that there will be no disturbance of the existing equipment operation or damage to the external or internal areas of the building during installation. Applicable building and electric safety regulations and standards will be complied with during installation. The subscriber terminal meets the safety and health standards and is certified for operation in the Czech Republic.
